Guide to face masks

When it comes to the daily beauty routine it is important to stick to the rule of 3: cleanse, moisturise and protect (SPF). Yet you shouldn’t forget to regularly enhance your skincare with a face mask. A face mask gives a ’quick fix’. Masks works as a vitamin infused filter between the pores and air, allowing pores to ‘inhale’ all the vitamins and antioxidants from that barrier. Face masks occlude the skin, basically creating a layer that allows the pores to soak up the ingredients, penetrating them deeper into the skin rather than being evaporated.

The beauty market is booming with variations of face masks! Many times, these fancy masks have a lot of fragrance, dyes and parabens – all of which can wreak havoc on your skin (especially sensitive skin). Don’t get carried away by the fun part of the packaging, always read the ingredients; look for hypoallergenic, fragrance free, and free of dyes and parabens products. Masks are your best friends to do a quick make over, to eliminate redness, plump, and lift, yet the results do not last for long.

For example, sheet masks are great for soothing sensitive skin, or after a procedure or even a sunburn. They evenly deliver hydration through the paper. Cream masks, on the other hand, are best at focusing on specific concerns such as acne or wrinkles. Jelly masks are somewhat an upgraded version of the sheet and cream masks, they totally seal your pores and force them to ‘breath in’ the vital ingredients, leaving your skin baby soft and revitalized.

FACE2UNE recommends to use SpikeRoller before a mask treatment, as it warms up the pores allowing them to maximize product absorption. The rest of Face2ools are great to be used after mask, to tune the muscles and prolong the results.
