Eat Less Sugar, You Are Sweet Enough
FACESTELLAR is not a judging place - we tolerate your hangovers, cigarettes, music taste, and we do not punish you for sleepless nights and excessive foundation…. But sugar is another topic!
Let us explain to you why:
We won’t talk about extra weight and mood swings, but will cover our department: sugar & skin.
Premature aging
One of sugar’s most damaging effects is making your skin look prematurely aged. Sugar breaks down collagen and elastin – the proteins that give your skin shape, structure, and firmness. When this occurs, your skin may look wrinkled, saggy, dry, and dull.
Increase of inflammation
A high level of sugar in the blood increases inflammation in your body. If you have any inflammatory skin condition ( eczema, rosacea, psoriasis) - the sugar will trigger your symptoms.
Acne
High blood sugar level leads to excessive sebum production plus increased inflammation. The result? All types of imperfections, including pimples, blackheads, and zits.
Decrease sugar consumption in your diet by following simple steps:
1. Recognise “hidden” sugar
(cornflakes, fresh juices, smoothies, junk food, sauces, etc.).
2. Replace processed foods with natural ones.
3. Cut down on sugary drinks (juices, sodas, wine, beer, energy drinks, cocktails).
4. Eat enough of well-balanced meal in order not to crave sweets.
Aaaand do not forget: you are already sweet enough!
