FACESTELLAR guide to facial oils

Facestellar instruction manual always reminds you to use oils for a better FaceTool glide.

In general, oils should be an integral part of the beauty routine. Oils break into two categories, essential and carrier. An essential one is a high concentration of natural plant oil, a carrier one is a vegetable or animal based oil used to dilute the essential. The essential oils are too harsh to be applied directly to the face, they can leave burns and destroy the skin’s natural barrier. Using the correct carrier oils sometimes mixed with an essential for FaceTool tune will clean congested pores, improve your skin elasticity and even boost your immunity (check the recipe below). Inhaling the particles of essential oils, or absorbing them through the skin makes your body more alkaline. (Oils are nor acid, nor alkaline so when they are in the body the cells produce alkaline to break the oils, which then results in a better pH level, hence, stronger immunity.)

Although, oils are full of vitamins and antioxidants, it is important to learn more about their properties. Always choose non comedogenic (that will not clog your pores) carrier oils, comedogenic scale is from 0 to 5, 0 being the least pore congesting and 5 being the opposite.

The effect of oils on your skin depends on which acid prevails in its composition. For example, high concentration of Linoleic Acid prevents your skin from breakouts and locks in the moisture by creating a protective layer. Remember a drop of oil on water looks as a layer? Same happens to your skin, that layer keeps the pollutants away. So next time you are out in a big city don’t forget to apply a natural protection before your make up- an oil. It is also highly recommended to use oils after a serum or moisturiser to enhance the benefit of the products, because oils lock in the moisture, but do not hydrate the skin on its own.

Different Acids have different molecule size, large ones will leave an oily mask on your skin, gradually draining its appearance (for ex: coconut, mineral oils), smaller molecules will absorb quicker delivering all the benefits to the debris of your skin and balancing the skin microbiome (pH balance of the skin).

Facestellar choice falls to Emu, Argan, Shea Butter, Raspberry Seed and Rosehip oils.

Recipe: 1 drop of Peppermint essential oil mixed with a spoon of Emu. Peppermint will relieve muscle tension, thus, helping the Face2ools to diminish wrinkles. Emu has great healing properties, which erase signs of pigmentation and irritations.
